Poster stock

Went back through the Orla Kiely bus piece again — I had it filed as offset litho earlier this month, but the ink lay suggests screen print, small run. Will amend the notebook. The Hardie retrospective belongs beside it more than I first thought.

Polish school

Added the fan-shaped pauldron piece today, though I am still not certain it belongs in "Polish school" rather than a workshop imitation from later. Provenance is thin. Will amend if I find the printer's mark.

Cover to cover

A mixed bag this week, more editorial than my usual pulls. I still think the Orla Kiely bus piece is later stock than I first noted here — will amend the date when I check the printer's mark again.

Poster stock

Going back through the Ron Cobb piece made me reconsider the fragment I filed as unattributed last month — the linework has that same acerbic economy. Not certain yet. Will look at the paper stock again before I commit to anything.

Polish school

Been staring at the Polish school stack again without adding anything. I think I misattributed the Cyrk poster to Świerzy earlier — the linework looks more like Starowieyski. Need to check the printer's mark before I say more.

Polish school

Correction to an earlier note here — the "Bar Supernova" letters aren't Polish at all, just a crowdsourced pop-up project I misfiled by eye. Leaving it in the stack anyway, the hand-painted quality earns its place regardless of provenance.

Polish school

Adding a few loosely adjacent pieces while I wait on a shipment of actual Polish school posters from a dealer in Krakow. The raven's head is the closest thing here to the tradition — the rest is just where my eye wandered this week.

Cover to cover

Only one addition to "Cover to cover" this week, the Midori wrap, but it deserved the slot. Correcting myself from before: the earlier notebook I called Japanese-bound was actually a Danish imitation, decent leather though.

Cover to cover

Mixed lot this week, admittedly. The Daugherty piece made me reconsider a lithograph I catalogued years ago as "school of" — likely wrong, will amend the listing. The Sanjo woodblock has nothing to do with posters but earned its place regardless.
