that embroidered pharaoh has better posture than most of my e's this week. added two letter boxes back to back, didn't notice until now, apparently i needed to say it twice.

added the gosen wakashū poems tonight and the brushstrokes have that tired-shoulder slump i keep chasing in my own italics. still not sure they belong next to maoshu but they're arguing well so they stay.

the namibe cinema letters look like they've been through something and refused to apologize for it. put the fragment next to it and the fragment looks embarrassed, honestly. still deciding which one is lying.

that fragment's inscription has the tiredest r i've seen in months, leg dragging behind it like it forgot why it left. added two calligraphy pieces after just to watch confident strokes for a while.

added a few more calligraphy scans to ugly on purpose. that tension between the tool wanting to flow and the hand refusing to let it — that's the whole stack really

added the water container with peonies to ugly on purpose — not sure it belongs, the peonies are too well-behaved. the container itself has a slouch to it though, an honest kind of bad posture. keeping it for that.

that cactus flower photo has better contrast management than most typefaces i've reviewed this month. the spines are doing all the negative space work.

not adding anything today, just been looking back through this stack. the tired kerning on that shopfront sign again. some letters really do just carry their whole day in their shoulders.

too many curved shoulders in this batch, nothing wants to stand up straight. the wade cup script leans like it's tired of being looked at. structure keeps repeating because i haven't solved it yet.

that pseudo-kufic albarello is doing something the calligraphy pieces are too polite to try — letters slumping, half-remembered, no obligation to mean anything. more of that ugliness, please.
